What an honour it was to attend this evening’s Ambassade de France en Australie event.
Smith St Bistrot’s La Vie en Rose private room was full of francophiles, epicureans, celebrities and media to celebrate French gastronomy and culture in Australia with the launch of the Good France campaign from 24 June to 25 July 2024 this year drawing an analogy between excellence in food and sport leading up to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 and over 400 restaurants, cafés, food shops, producers, importers and exporters participating.
Additionally to witness culinary luminaries Pierrick Boyer, Christian Maier, Alex McIntosh and Scott Pickett being awarded with the prestigious Knights of Agricultural Merit and Gabriel Gaté and Philippe Mouchel with the Officers of Agricultural Merit by Ambassador of France to Australia Pierre André Imbert and Honorary Consul General of France in Melbourne Myriam Boisbouvier-Wylie on behalf of the French government and established in 1883.
A menu of wine-paired savoury and sweet canapés was specially curated by the award recipients.
