We take our berets off to Entrecôte: What a night at their Bastille soirée complete with costumes, singing and can-can dancers!
The specially curated four-course and bottomless wine-paired menu included:
Canapés of Gougères au Crabe with poached Noosa spanner crab and celery mayonnaise; and King Louis XIV Boulettes of spiced beef croquettes and Dijon mustard with NV Taittinger Cuvée Prestige from Champagne, Reims in France.
An entrée of Assiette de Fruit de Mer with Barilla Bay oysters, Queensland prawns with sauce Marie-Rose, brûlée scallop, creamed leek and caviar with 2020 Mourchon La Souree Côtes du Rhône Blanc.
A main course of Boeuf Bourguignon Truffé with Bordeaux Supérieur braised beef cheek, lardons, petit mushrooms, Paris mash and Truffle Hill black winter truffle with 2013 The Lost Plots Languedoc Mourvèdre, Carignan, Grenache.
Dessert of Clafoutis aux Cerises or a warm brandied cherry and almond flan with pistachio ice cream.
The beautiful Libby who lived in Paris and is style personified won best dressed.
Her ensemble comprised a festival toile de jouy cotton-velvet dress by The Vampire's Wife, earrings by Celine, an acrylic bag by L'Afshar, a string of pearls by Bimba Y Lola and boots resembling Valentino.
Celebrating France's Fête nationale at this iconic brasserie continued well into the evening and is a permanent fixture on the social calendar.
